Our products

At Konaxx Onions, we place great value on the excellent quality of our products. As our name suggests, we specialize in onions. Additionally, we also export other types of vegetables, all of which are locally grown and then traded internationally.

Onions

Konaxx Onions BV specializes in onions. In addition to yellow onions, we also export red onions.

We work closely with a loyal group of local growers. The onions are mainly cultivated in the northern part of the Netherlands, where clay soil is predominant. Clay soil is most suitable for onion cultivation.

Konaxx has its own sorting process. Here, we ensure that the onions are sorted by size and their internal quality is checked. For example, we conduct a quality check using our optical sorter. In addition to this automated process, our employees also manually check the quality. Once the onions are approved, they are weighed and packaged in bags. This process is fully automated.

Ultimately, our goal is to transport the onions to our (international) customers. In total, Konaxx Onions trades approximately 25,000 tons of onions per year.

Thanks to the excellent cooperation with local growers, we have become professionals in the onion industry.

Potatoes

Potatoes are the fourth most important food crop worldwide after rice, wheat, and maize. In the Netherlands and Belgium, potatoes are also considered a staple food. Therefore, it’s no surprise that alongside our Konaxx onions, we also trade a significant amount of potatoes. There are various types of potatoes, all cultivated by our own local growers.

Cabbage

There are different types of cabbage. These various types have been cultivated and prepared in the Netherlands and Belgium for hundreds of years. Cabbage is also a popular winter vegetable and is consumed worldwide. All these different types of cabbage are grown by local growers on northern soil.

Carrots

Carrots begin to grow quite early in the season. The carrots are also grown in the northern region and are classified as our local products. Carrots are particularly known for their vibrant external color. This is why orange carrots are known abroad as ‘Dutch carrots’.

Plant Onions

Konaxx offers a versatile range of plant onions, including varieties such as Sturon and Stuttgarter, in various sizes and packaging options. Our strong foundational products lay the groundwork for quality. For all your plant onion needs, you can rely on Konaxx’s expertise and connections with local growers.

Our Approach

Before the onions reach the customer, there is a process involved. It starts when we receive the onions from local growers. The onions are allocated a designated spot in our warehouse. They are then cleaned and sorted by size. After the onions are inspected, they are packaged in the designated packaging. These bags of onions are stacked neatly and loaded onto trucks. From this point on, they are ready for delivery to the customer.
