Since last year, Konaxx Onions has installed a new fully automated sorting line.

With this new machine, the quality of onion processing has improved significantly. The Eqraft machine performs both external and internal checks. An infrared scanner assesses internal and external quality. The color is evaluated using cameras in the Q-eyes. This allows for perfect sorting based on quality, size, weight, shape, and color.

In addition to the increased quality, the fully automated sorting line addresses labor shortages. Instead of the three to four people previously required, only one employee is now needed.

While we also trade in potatoes, carrots, cabbage, and beets, the emphasis is on sorting, packaging, and exporting onions. We process 500 to 600 tons of onions per week.

The onions are grown by farmers in Friesland, Groningen, and Drenthe. As onion processors, we are the only ones in the region. The Northern region is becoming increasingly important for onions, with high-quality onions coming from this clay soil.

With the new machine, we can deliver perfect quality to customers and adapt to the changing labor market. This is our top priority!
